Alice Russell

FRANKLIN

Alice Russell, 88, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a lifelong resident of Franklin.

She was born on Nov. 6, 1927, in Franklin, to Byron and Anna (Smith) Abbett.

Survivors include her sons, Dr. Gregg Raymond (Karen) of Franklin, Richard “Sonny” Russell (Donna) of Franklin, Frank Russell (Cassie) of Trafalgar; grandchildren, Brian Raymond, Adam Raymond, Alex Raymond, Kimberly Owen, Amber Russell, Kelsie Russell, John Hubbard; great-grandchildren, Cora Raymond, Aviana Raymond, Chloe Owen, Kayden Owen and Mason Hubbard.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; and sisters, Francis Harp and Ruby Lazzell.

Alice was a graduate of Franklin Community High School. She worked for 17 years as the personal assistant to the Director of the Johnson County Welfare Department.

She then went on to work as an assistant manager in Production Control at Bendix. She retired from there after 20 years of service.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who brought much happiness to everyone she knew and met.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service time. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
