Rick L. Waugh, 62, Mooresville, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, April 10, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Rick was born March 2, 1954, in Indianapolis, to the late Walter Frank and Helen (Walden) Waugh.

He graduated from Whiteland High School in 1972. He also graduated from Vincennes University and attended Ball State University.

Rick’s career in construction started at a young age. He was the owner and operator of R.L. Waugh Construction and Ridgeline Development for many years. An avid outdoorsman, Rick was a member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation.

He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and classic cars.

Above all, Rick was a devoted family man and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roxanne Louise (Thorne) Waugh.

Survivors include his sons, Derek Waugh (Elizabeth), serving in the USAF, Germany, and Brian Waugh (Adrenia) of Greencastle; sisters, Barbara Helton of Whiteland and Sharon Hostetler of Indianapolis; stepchildren, Brett Freese of Reelsville, Chastity Henrichs of Bainbridge and Chase Freese of Mooresville; grandchildren, Jayden, Isaac, Dylan, Caleb, Laylee, Olivia, Roxanne, Gunner and River; and companion, Carol Green.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate the life of Rick Waugh from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Carlisle–Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at New Life Community Wesleyan Church, 4356 E. State Road 144, Mooresville. Pastors Mike Linville and Steve Lane will officiate, and burial will follow in Clayton Cemetery, Clayton.
