Police raid underage drinking party

Five people were arrested and two teens could face juvenile charges after police learned about an underage drinking party on social media.

Sheriff’s deputies went to a home on West County Road 100N, west of Franklin, just after 10:30 p.m. Saturday after learning the party had been posted on social media.

Inside, deputies found several people and multiple bottles of alcohol. The homeowners were out of town, according to the report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Seven people tested positive for alcohol, with blood-alcohol contents ranging from .02 to .13 percent. Under state law, a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent is considered intoxicated.

Police arrested five people on charges of consumption of alcohol by a minor. The sheriff’s office is also sending information about two teens, ages 16 and 17, to the juvenile probation department to be considered for charges, the report said.

The teens were sent home with their parents.

The following people were arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail:

Luke Tucker, 18, 1671 Turning Leaf Road, Franklin.

Brandon Hardcastle, 18, 1695 E. Jefferson St., Franklin.

David F. Kahre, 20, 1177 Oak Leaf Road, Franklin.

John T. Greaves, 18, 2821 Fieldstone Court, Franklin.

Phillip D. Karsten II, 18, 449 N. Jackson St., Franklin.

Four of the teens were released from the jail on $1,000 bond. Kahre was released on $250 bond.
