Center Grove resident catches break-in on camera

Police are looking for a man caught on surveillance camera breaking into a vehicle outside a Center Grove area home.

A resident in Brentwood, near Smith Valley and Runyon roads, called police Saturday morning to report his work truck that was parked in his driveway had been broken into. The man also had surveillance video outside of his home, in the 700 block of Preakness Drive, which showed a man breaking into the truck around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

The man then took a laptop bag out of the vehicle, looked inside it and put it back in the vehicle. The resident did not believe anything was missing, the report said.

No other break-ins were reported, Sheriff Doug Cox said.

Police also collected fingerprints from the vehicle. Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s office at 317-736-5155.
