Kindergarten registration opening

Parents of students who are starting kindergarten in the fall can register their children later this month.

Kindergarten registration has been announced at local school districts.

They are:

Center Grove: 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the elementary school the child will attend. Children must five by Aug. 1. Parents should bring the child’s birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency. Parents wanting to volunteer should bring their driver’s license for a background check.

Clark-Pleasant, 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at each of the elementary schools. Parents can begin the registration process before the event by visiting the corporation website at www.cpcsc.k12.in.us and clicking on the registration link.

Edinburgh: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28 at East Side Elementary School. Students will take part in a short kindergarten skills assessment. Parents will be given health/immunization forms by the school nurse. Vision screenings will be given to all incoming students.

Speech screenings will be given as needed.

Greenwood: 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the school where the child will attend.Parents should bring the child’s original birth certificate, current record of immunizations, and proof of residency, such as a utility bill or lease agreement.

Indian Creek: 9 to 10:30 a.m., 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the school’s cafeteria. Families should bring the child’s birth certificate (from the county health department), current immunization records and the child’s Social Security card. Kindergarten students should be at registration as they will be screened.
