Man in critical condition after hit by car while getting mail

An Indianapolis man remained in critical condition the day after being hit by a car.

Just before 1 p.m. Wednesday, Pearl Feltner, 78, was hit by a car in front of his home located on Morgantown Road, north of County Line Road, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

When officers arrived, neighbors and motorists who had stopped to help were performing CPR on Feltner, according to police. 

Feltner was in critical condition and was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, according to police. He remained in critical condition Thursday afternoon, according to a hospital spokesperson.

No other information about the accident was available.
