Parrish prided himself on being a lifelong railroader. Following in his father’s footsteps, he began his career with Conrail, followed by a short time at CSX and finally at Amtrak as director of claims for the Western region of the United States.

Parrish’s love for the railroad was evident in the time and effort he put into his job. He also was the publications chair of the claims bulletin for the Association of American Railroads where he spent countless hours working to share his passion for the industry.

Parrish was a diehard sports fan. He loved the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. Parrish spent his free time playing softball then coaching his daughter, Peyton.

His life revolved around his family, friends and the railroad.
