Hearts & Darts – March 29

Hearts

Thank you once again to all the volunteers who helped with Greenwood Community Middle School’s Reality Store. Many thanks to the school’s PTO for providing the wonderful lunch and to the eighth-grade parents and many businesses who helped make this event possible. Also, thank you to the Indiana Women’s Education Foundation for coming up with the curriculum to guide us through this project. The students really enjoyed the activity and learned a very valuable lesson. We could not have provided this experience without the help of our many volunteers. Thanks again to everyone for making the Reality Store a success.

Humble, Happy hearts to the fabulous volunteers from Grace Assembly of God Church who spent three soggy, cold hours sprucing up our parks in New Whiteland. They gathered bags full of sticks and litter and piled up limbs for us to have removed to prepare our parks for summer activities. Additional Hearts to Grace Assembly of God Church, the American Red Cross and the New Whiteland Fire Department for walking in some of our neighborhoods on March 19, educating our residents about fire safety, checking smoke detectors and installing them when needed.

A big heart to the 100 Women Who Care of Johnson County for their generous donation. These funds will go far in helping us further our mission of alleviating hunger. Being the first charity to receive one of their quarterly donations is a real honor. A special thanks to Lisa Lintner for sharing her compelling and heartwarming story of a recent tour of the Pantry that resulted in the Pantry being selected. Thank you to all
