James Hollis “Jim” Bray

MORGANTOWN

James Hollis “Jim” Bray, age 65, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 22, 2016, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin with his loving family by his side. He was a resident of Morgantown.

Jim was born April 22, 1950, in Pulaski County, Kentucky, to the late Leother and Ida E. (Goodin) Bray.

He married Janice A. (Fox) Bray on Oct. 24, 1976, in Trafalgar. She preceded him in death Dec. 4, 2013, after 37 devoted years of marriage.

Jim retired in 2002 as a welder for Arvin Industries in Franklin after 27 years of service and was a member of the Carpenters Union, Local 2993.

He enjoyed tending to his garden, repairing lawn mowers and working in his garage. Jim will be remembered for his willingness to always help others in need, especially his neighbors.

He is survived by his loving children, James E. (Julie) Bray of Morgantown, Betty Maloy of London, Kentuck, Robert (Pam) Maloy of North Vernon, Christina Maloy of Seymour, Brittanie Bray-Lee of Morgantown and Pam (James) Eggers of London, Kentucky; siblings, Doris Alvy and Elizabeth Tanner, both of Greenwood, and Tina Franklin of Somerset, Kentucky; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Maloy; six sisters and four brothers.

The Rev. Ed Tharpe will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
