Forest Russell “Buddy” Lasiter Jr., 58, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016.
He was a resident of New Whiteland and a former longtime resident of Whiteland.
Buddy was born Sept 21, 1957, in Franklin to Forest Russell Sr. and Ethel Jean (Caswell) Lasiter.
He married Shariee Hobbs on Oct. 20, 1978, in Greenwood; they were married for 37 years.
He was employed with the Town of Whiteland as a supervisor for 27 years.
Buddy loved hunting, fishing and his big black Dodge truck. He enjoyed shooting guns, gardening and playing pool. He loved spending time with his family and the grandchildren.
Buddy loved life and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Shariee Lasiter of New Whiteland; two children, Mary (Steven) Burden of Greenwood and Michael “Spanky” (Lori) Lasiter of New Whiteland; four sisters, Doris (Doug) Hicks and Denise Lasiter, both of Greenwood, Donna Brown of New Whiteland, Mary Lee Out-Law of South Carolina, brother, William Russell (Michelle) of Greenwood; five grandchildren, Cody and Alex Burden, Dominic, Ethan and Payton Lasiter; and many, many, friends and pets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Ethel Lasiter; and a sister, Sylvia Lashley.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. 31, with a visitation from 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
