William L. “Bill” Lamb

William L. “Bill” Lamb, 68, of New Whiteland, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on Sept. 14, 1947, in Indianapolis to the late Gilbert W. and Virginia R. (Campton) Lamb.

William served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era in the security agency (ASA) from 1966 to 1970. He then worked in the auto industry for most of his life, and eventually retired from International Harvester.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 500 in Indianapolis, UAW 98, and the Indy Runners Club, where he ran marathons since 1995 participating in 37 marathons in 34 states.

William is survived by his daughter, Jennel Stephens of Greenwood and three grandchildren, Tyler Hayes, Alexsis Farrar and Jeremiah Stephens.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, William Lee Lamb; sisters, Una Mae Yates, Nancy Kay Ogle; and grandparents, William and May Lamb, and William and Una Campton.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W Main St. Greenfield. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Bethany Cemetery in Washington with military rites presented.

The family requests that everyone dress casually for the visitation and celebration of life.
