Hoopingarner gets All-Star nod

Greenwood Community High School senior Holly Hoopingarner has been selected to the 2016 Indiana Girls All-Star Basketball Team.

A 5-foot-4 point guard, Hoopingarner was a four-year starter for the Woodmen and a three-time member of the Daily Journal’s first-team All-County Team.

She was the Daily Journal Player of the Year her sophomore season.

Hoopingarner averaged a county-high 23.6 points per game her senior season. She also averaged 2.8 steals and 2.7 assists, helping the Woodmen reach the final of the Class 4A Center Grove Sectional, where they lost to the tournament-host Trojans in overtime.

An IUPUI recruit, Hoopingarner finished her career with 1,623 points. She is Greenwood’s first girls All-Star.
