C. David Spiece

COLUMBUS

C. David Spiece, 57, of Columbus, died 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

David was born in Columbus on Jan. 1, 1959, the son of Charles and Myrle Crawford Spiece.

He married Julia A. Frazier on March 26, 1977, at New Whiteland Christian Church.

He graduated from Franklin High School in 1977 and was lovingly referred to as Superman by his family and friends, loved NASCAR, hunting and anything outdoors. He especially loved watching his grandkids play sports and Siesta Key Beach in Florida.

He was maintenance supervisor at Estep & Company’s Subway Shops. He was a former employee of Cox Construction and Columbus Component Group.

David is survived by his wife, Julia A. Spiece of Columbus; son, C.J. (Lauren) Spiece of Columbus; daughter, Amy (Greg) Craft of Elizabethtown; brother, Ed Spiece of Fishers; sisters, Charlotte Spiece of Indianapolis and Vickie McCoy of Nashville; grandchildren, Tyler Settle, Ethan Spiece, Gregory and Alana Craft and Ellie Spiece.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Spiece.

A funeral service will  be at 11 a.m. Friday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street in Columbus with Revs. Nelson Lee and Andy Kilps officiating. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to service time Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
