Groups compete in state finals

Local percussion groups drummed up gold and top finishes at weekend competitions.

Students also twirled their way to top 10 finishes at the color guard state finals.

Center Grove High School’s indoor percussion snagged first place on scholastic world class Mid-South Regional Preliminaries in Bowling Green, Kentucky. They finished second place in the Mid-South Regional finals.

The indoor percussion group at Whiteland Community High School earned second place in Open Concert Class at the Ben Davis IPA Invitational.

The winter percussion group at Greenwood Community High School placed fourth at Ben Davis. Franklin Community High School’s percussion group took fifth.

The color guard at Center Grove High School placed third in the scholastic world class at the Indiana High School Color Guard Association state finals. Greenwood’s Irish Guard placed seventh at state finals. Franklin finished 14th in Class A.
