Are you registered to vote in primary?

Voters have a few weeks left to register to vote before the primary election in May.

Voters who want to cast ballots county surveyor, county commissioner, county council at-large or for state and federal races, have to be registered by April 4.

You can double-check your registration or sign up by going to the Indiana Statewide Voter Registration System website, https://indianavoters.in.gov/PublicSite/PublicMain.aspx. To register, voters can also fill out a form at any Johnson County Public Library branch, the voter registration office inside the courthouse or the any license branch. Residents should bring a photo ID card if they are registering to vote for the first time.

If voters register through the state website, they have until midnight April 4 to sign up.

If they miss the April deadline, voters will have to wait until May 17 to register again in time for the general election.
