Jean Margaret Archer

INDIANAPOLIS

Jean Margaret Archer, 83, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, of Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.

Born April 20, 1932 in Brookhaven, Mississippi, she graduated high school in Mobile, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Grover Cleveland Archer; parents, Marcus and Merlie Hemphill; brother, William Earl Hemphill; sister, Betty Louise Henry.

She worked for RCA for several years. A member of Woodland Baptist Church, she was also involved in Englewood Order of the Eastern Star No. 483, Sarah Grotto and Past President of Greeters Auxiliary and Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Robert Earl Archer and daughter, Brenda Jean Means (Herman Jr.); three granddaughters, Lesley Karpiuk (Lucas), Danielle Archer, Rhiannon Johnson (Anthony); grandson, Herman Mean  III and nine great grandchildren, Liam, Lila Jean, William, Jackson, Kylea, Alexas, James, Dale and Michael.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135.  Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday with an Order of the Eastern Star and Ladies’ Auxiliary service at 7 p.m.  She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
