Local residents named to state boards

Gov. Mike Pence recently made appointments to various state boards and commissions.

Peter D. Nugent, a Johnson County resident, has been reappointed to serve a four-year term on the ethics commission through Feb. 15, 2020.

Hospital names new orthopedic director for three locations

Sharon M. Annee, a Greenwood resident, has been appointed administrative director of orthopedics for Franciscan St. Francis Health.

In her new role, she will oversee all orthopedic operational aspects for the hospital’s campuses at Indianapolis, Mooresville and Carmel.

She most recently served as manager of inpatient therapy services and outpatient specialty services. Previously, she was the team leader of orthopedics and medical-surgical inpatient physical therapy in Mooresville.

Annee received an undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois and also studied at the University of Sterling in Scotland. She later earned a master’s in physical therapy from the University of Indianapolis and is currently pursuing an MBA at Anderson University.

Local members of library staff help earn award

The Indianapolis Public Library’s accounting staff won a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting awarded to the library for the 25th consecutive year.

The award is the the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

Among those recognized on the accounting staff were Carolyn Adams and Steve Manier, both of Greenwood and Ron Seats of the Indianapolis southside.
