Arlene P. Smock

INDIANAPOLIS

Arlene P. Smock, 76, of Indianapolis, formerly of Greenwood, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016. She was born Sept. 19, 1939, in Indianapolis, to Harwood and Fern Hair.

She was a longtime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Indianapolis.

In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Maurice W. Smock.

Arlene is survived by two sons David Brian (Julie) Smock of Batavia, Ohio, and Christopher Maurice (Christina) Smock, of Quitman, Mississippi; one daughter, Beth Ann (Paul) Gaylo of Greenwood; and a brother Stephen L. (Carolyn) Hair of Indianapolis. She also is survived by four grandchildren, David Brian Smock Jr., Christina Michelle Stewart, Stephen Tyler Smock and Arynn Diane Smock; one step-grandchild, Crystal Nicole Kolb; four great-grandchildren, Brian Alexander Smock, Jonathan David Smock, Mikaela Renee Stewart and Aryana Faith Stewart; and four step-great-grandchildren, Trevor Thomas Meagher, Tehya Layne Meagher, Jaxson Maurice Kolb and Khloey Lynn Kolb.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, with a visitation at noon followed immediately by the remembrance service.
