Doug Houshour

WHITELAND

Doug Houshour, 54, passed away at his residence Monday, March 7, 2016. He was a resident of Whiteland.

He was born on April 23, 1961, in Lafayette, Tennessee, to Everett and Hassie (Carter) Houshour.

Doug married Beth Richards on Aug. 2, 1986. She survives along with their two sons, J.D. and Jon Houshour; granddaughter, Chloe, and one coming in June. Also surviving are his mother, Hassie; brother, Don, and sister-in-law, Tammy Houshour; and nieces and nephews, Rachel, Tony, Whitley and Maddix.

He was preceded in passing by this father, Everett; several grandparents; and his favorite dog, Bart.

Doug attended Franklin Community High School.

He was the gun GURU at the Outdoorsman Sport Shop in Greenwood for the past 30 years.

His hobbies included hunting, shooting, harassing his buddies and co-workers, and playing with his granddaughter.

Rev. Mark Felber will conduct a celebration of Doug’s life at 11 a.m. Friday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
