A Sonic Drive-In restaurant is coming to the east side of Greenwood near Interstate 65.
The curbside service fast food chain will be built at the Emerson Pointe shopping center, located at Emerson Avenue and County Line Road, Greenwood planning director Bill Peeples said.
Sonic will need approvals for the size of the restaurant from the Greenwood Board of Zoning Appeals and the Board of Public Works and Safety, Peeples said. Sonic already has received approval from the I-65 overlay district committee to build a restaurant at the shopping center, which is in the I-65 overlay district, Peeples said.
A timetable for construction and an opening date have not been set, Peeples said.
