Bonetha J. ‘Bonnie’ (Stowers) Ferger

Bonetha J. “Bonnie” (Stowers) Ferger, 92, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, at Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a longtime resident of Whiteland.

She was born Dec. 7, 1923, in Sheridan to Gurnie and Edith Stowers.

She married Hubert E. Ferger on Oct. 9, 1948, in Indianapolis; they were married for 52 years.

Bonnie enjoyed sewing, making quilts and clothes for her daughters, and doing needle point.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Nineveh Lodge and Greenwood Senior Center, where she loved playing euchre.

Bonnie is survived by her two daughters, Charlene Ferger of Portland, Oregon, and Marcia McKenzie of Indianapolis; sister, Mildred Babbitt of Noblesville, brother, Warren Stowers of Sheridan; two grandchildren, Richelle and Jason McKenzie; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Michael Rainey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and in 2000 by her husband, Hubert Ferger.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan.
