2 named to Franklin College board

Two alumni have been elected to the Franklin College board of trustees.

John R. Dickerson, a 1975 graduate of the college, and Todd Bemis, a 1984 graduate of the college, joined the board earlier this year.

Dickerson is the director of the Indianapolis Facilities Center for the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection. He has a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism from Franklin College and a master of business administration from University of Indianapolis.

Bemis is the owner and president of the Johnson County-based Bemis Group, specializing in development, construction and design. His company has done projects around the college. He has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the college.

The school’s board of trustees has 40 members who work on instituting and supporting fundraising efforts, establishing and reviewing educational programs and establishing the college’s annual budget. The board also authorizes construction and renovations at the school and oversees changes in tuition and fees.
