Fairy trails can come true

Kids can venture deep into the woods to explore the magic and mystery of nature during Fairy Trails, a special program at Johnson County Park starting at 6 p.m. Friday.

Children can follow park staff as they explore the stories and myths about gnomes, wood sprites, wizards and other creatures.

In addition to a trek through the woods, the program will let the young explorers make wands and learn fairy myths.

Kids can wear their best fairy or elf costume for the costume contest and should bring shoes that can get muddy.

The program is open to all ages but is geared toward children 3 to 12 years old.
