Doris Ann Koehl, 75, passed away Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at her residence in Greenwood.

She was born April 19, 1940, in Indianapolis, to George and Lois Ann (Lucas) Bechert.

She married Charles F. Koehl on March 26, 1970. He preceded her in passing.

Doris is survived by four children, John (Sandy) Koehl of Jarvisburg, North Carolina, Patricia Ann (Phil) Harbaugh of Franklin, David (Kim) Koehl of Morristown and Georgiana (Philip) Ayer of San Antonio, Texas; 13 grandchildren, Tristianna Koehl, Austin Koehl, Alex Harbaugh, Phil Harbaugh, Jr., Michael May, Laura Simmerman, Alex, Zach and Jake Johnson, Brittany Koehl, and Zach, Josh and Tristen Ayer; and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Jenny Mullins of Lawrence and Millie Welcher of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Charles; and grandson, John Koehl Jr.

Doris worked in the building trades and in commercial sales for the majority of her life. She and her husband owned and operated a custom cabinet shop and interior design business for many years in Oklahoma.

She attended Smith Valley Baptist Church in Greenwood.

Doris enjoyed traveling with her husband, taking many trips overseas. She enjoyed going to the casino. Her life was always centered around spending time with her children and grandchildren.

The Rev. Bob Newlin will conduct a celebration of Doris’ life at 11 a.m. Friday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Glenns Valley.
