Truck catches fire, stalls traffic on Interstate 65

Both northbound lanes on Interstate 65 were closed for nearly an hour Thursday after a semi-truck caught on fire.

No one was injured, but the vehicle caught fire in the right shoulder of I-65, about 3 miles south of Franklin, said Sgt. John Perrine, a spokesman for the Indiana State Police. The fire began just before 2 p.m.

The fire was out by 3 p.m., and the left lane was open for motorists about an hour later, he said. The right lane opened after clean up was finished.
