A local teacher is running a 5K to raise money for blood cancers.
And he wants your help.
Stephen Imel, a teacher at Saints Francis & Clare School, will be running the 5K portion of the Indianapolis Mini Marathon.
In 2014, Imel was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He is now in Team in Training through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. People sign up for Team in Training through the society to train for athletic events, such as a run.
Imel also was named the season’s Honored Hero. His training team is asking for donations that will go to the society.
