William “Bill” Otis Phillippe

INDIANAPOLIS

William “Bill” Otis Phillippe, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016.

He was born Nov. 17, 1926, to the late Daniel Maynard and Alzena Claire Phillippe in Frankfort.

Bill graduated from Mulberry High School and attended Purdue University prior to entry into the U.S. Army in which he served during World War II. After returning home from his service, Bill met the love of his life Barbara, and they were married for 60 years before her passing in 2010.

His favorite pastime was playing euchre, and it was hard to find anyone who could beat him.

Bill is survived by his children, Neil Phillippe, Deborah Lanier (Michael), Patricia Terek and Valerie Phillippe; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and six siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings; and his wife.

Friends and family are invited to gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a funeral service to take place at 11 a.m. on Friday at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East.
