James T. Keller

NEW WHITELAND

James T. Keller, 51, of New Whiteland, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 10, 1964, to Arthur E. Keller and Betty Ann (Brown) Keller in Fort Wayne.

He married Sherry E. (Douglas) Keller on July 7, 1996, and she survives.

Other survivors include his mother, Betty Ann Keller of New Whiteland; two sons, Sean James Keller and wife, Anna, of Cincinnati, and Craig Tatman and wife, Allison, of Franklin; daughter, Faith Tatman of New Whiteland; two brothers, Dewey Keller and wife, Patricia, of Indianapolis, and Billy Keller and wife, Teresa Keller of Noblesville; and five grandchildren, Marley Tatman, Traieh Tatman, Alaina and Henry Tatman, and one due in August.

He was preceded in death by his father and his daughter, Megan Tatman.

Mr. Keller had lived in the area since 1990, after moving from Ohio.

He graduated from Leto High School in Tampa, Florida.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Mr. Keller was an engineer at 3D Limestone of Bloomington. He had been a sheriff’s deputy in Hamilton County, Ohio, for four years.

He was a member of New Whiteland Baptist Church.

Mr. Keller was a member of Jubilee Masonic Lodge of New Whiteland, the National Rifle Association and the American Legion of New Whiteland.

Jim loved the outdoors and hunting with his sons, golfing, animals and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville. A Masonic service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Jeff Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. A graveside military service will be conducted by local veterans organizations.

Memorial contributions may be given to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in care of the funeral home.
