Area color guard, percussion groups take home honors

Local color guard and percussion groups earned honors this weekend in Greenwood and at other competitions.

The color guard at Greenwood Community High School placed second at an Indiana High School Color Guard Association event in Greenwood.

Center Grove High School’s world guard competed at Winter Guard International at Warren Central. The team received third place in preliminaries and fourth place in finals. The junior varsity guard earned second place in regional Class A at Greenwood.

Franklin Community High School’s color guard placed third in Class A at Greenwood.

Whiteland Community High School’s junior varsity guard placed first in their round and were second overall in Class AA. The Whiteland varsity guard placed seventh in Class A.

Indian Creek’s color guard placed fourth at the Greenwood event.

Whiteland’s indoor percussion ensemble placed third in the open concert class at Franklin Central High School. Center Grove earned second. Franklin’s percussion group placed sixth.
