Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast planned

Community members, government officials and clergy members will meet for conversation and food at the 26th annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast in Greenwood.

Husband and wife Michael McAfee and Lauren Green McAfee will be the keynote speakers for the event, which brings civic, community and religious leaders together once a year to discuss activities and events occurring in Greenwood.

Michael McAfee is the director of Bible engagement for the Green Collection, which consists of more than 40,000 religious texts and artifacts in Oklahoma City.

Lauren Green McAfee is the director of community engagement for the Museum of the Bible, which will be opening in Washington, D.C., in 2017. The museum will be an international non-sectarian institution that explores the impact of the Bible.

The prayer breakfast will be at 8 a.m. March 5 at Jonathan Byrd’s Cafeteria, 100 Byrd Way, Greenwood.
