Bruce Miquel Cloyd

Bruce Miquel Cloyd, 42, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, in Columbus. He was a former longtime resident of Franklin and most recently was living in Shelbyville.

Prior to returning to Indiana, Bruce lived and worked in Chicago for the past 10 years.

He was born July 25, 1973, in Franklin. His mother is Deborah Cloyd-Edwards of Columbus. Bruce also is survived by his brother, Lee (Shawna) Edwards of Shelbyville, sister, Sharon Ward of Columbus; nieces and nephew, Jalei, Carsyn, Steele and Parker Edwards; and many aunts, uncles and cousins of Columbus, Ohio and Virginia Beach, Virginia; great-aunts and great-uncles, Sonja Hale-Harlan of Columbus, Ohio, Minister Erle (Vera) Hale of Baltimore, Maryland, Virginia (John) Cloyd-Patterson of Indianapolis and Joseph Cloyd of Denver, Colorado. Bruce also is survived by special friends David VanCleave, Rod Lambert, Andy Kean and Donald Dickens.

He was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Benjamin and Cleo Cloyd.

Bruce was a 1991 Franklin Community High School graduate.

He was employed by Dovenmuehle Mortgage in Chicago.

He was a member of 2nd Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin.

A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
