Lorraine Glass Smock

Lorraine Glass Smock, 94, of Whiteland, died peacefully at home Feb. 15, 2016.

Mrs. Smock was born Oct. 12, 1921, in Indianapolis, to the late Samuel Tracy and Iva Mae (Hall) Grooms.

She worked for the Indiana State Police for a number of years as a secretary, typing police reports for the officers.

Mrs. Smock lived life to the fullest and was described as spunky, strong and very independent. She had a phenomenal sense of humor and loved practical jokes.

A proud homemaker, she loved to take care of her gardens and mow her lawn. She was grateful for her good health and was able to live independently until just a couple of weeks ago.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Smock; and one son, Stanley R. Glass.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Tracie Glass; great grandchildren, Abigail Brock and Matthew Kennedy; great-great-grandchild, Harmony Ray Hoover; and special caregivers, Robin Kennedy and Kelly Novck.

The funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
