Local color guards and percussion groups twirled and drummed their way into top 10 spots at local competitions.
Whiteland Community High School’s winter guard competed at the Brownsburg High School invitational, with the junior varsity guard snagging first place and being promoted to Class AA. The varsity guard placed seventh in Class A.
The indoor drum line from Franklin Community High School earned a second-place finish at Plainfield High School.
The winter percussion group from Greenwood Community High School placed fourth in open class at Plainfield.
Indian Creek’s color guard placed ninth at Brownsburg High School.
Groups from Center Grove High School did not compete.
