Eat breakfast to raise funds for hit-and-run victim

A Franklin organization is planning a benefit breakfast to help pay the medical costs for a local man injured in a hit-and-run accident.

The Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107, 801 N. Main St., will serve biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, fried potatoes and drinks from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Breakfast is $6 per person.

Grant Black sustained multiple injuries, including 16 fractured ribs, a broken fibula, a broken sternum and a shattered elbow. He recently was transferred to Todd-Aikens Rehabilitation Center in Franklin.

The accident occurred in January, and a second man was seriously injured as well. The driver who caused the accident fled the scene and has not been found.
