Mary Kay (Woods) Fischer

GREENWOOD

Mary Kay (Woods) Fischer, 71, of Greenwood, passed away Tuesday Feb. 9, 2016, in Greenwood and formerly of Washington, Indiana.

Mary was born March 2, 1944, in Washington, Indiana, to Alvin Richard and Helen M. (Hopewell) Woods.

She was employed as an assessor for Knight Township and a city utility manager in Washington, Indiana. She also was involved in computer software marketing with judicial and assessor programs.

Mary enjoyed gardening, helping others and working with the Red Cross Service with veterans.

She was a member of the Christ Fellowship Church in Whiteland.

Survivors include two children, Kevin Myers of Evansville and Shelly (Marty) Meyer of Jasper; twin brother, Larry Ray Woods of Washington; six granddaughters, Mallory, Maris, Hadley Meyer, Hannah, Emily and Corinna Myers; great-granddaughter, Luciana DePiano; and two nieces, Julie Ann Woods of Washington and Lea Lemon of Bloomington, and nephew David Woods of Arizonia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Virginia Woods; and brother, Alvin Richard Woods Jr.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. 31 with visitation from noon until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley in Greenwood.
