Billy F. Reynolds

Billy F. Reynolds, 88, of Bargersville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin.

He was born March 16, 1927, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to the late Edwin Austin Reynolds and Mayme (Calliflower) Reynolds.

He married Estel Idora (Park) Reynolds on Aug. 6, 1947, at Bluff Creek Christian Church; she survives.

He had been an electrical foreman for Navistar in Indianapolis for 28 years, retiring in 1984.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II having served on the USS Isherwood in the Pacific Theater.

He was a longtime member of Bluff Creek Christian Church in Greenwood, where he had served as an elder, deacon and church trustee. He also was a member of Northside Christian Church in Englewood, Florida, where they spent many winters.

He was a dedicated and loving family man always keeping God, family, and church in his life. He enjoyed woodworking and his 1921 Model-T Ford truck.

Survivors include his wife, Estel Idora (Park) Reynolds of Bargersville; children, Lydia A. Stout (Joseph, deceased) of Bargersville, Sarah M. “Sally” Bolen (Darryl) of Greenville, Illinois, and Billy M. Reynolds (Jesslyn) of Morgantown; siblings, Lola Baker Miller of Franklin, Fern Whitten of Greenwood, Judy Baylor (Darrell) of Anderson, Edwin Austin Reynolds Jr. (Jean) of Greenwood and Rushh Reynolds (Burnadean) of Whiteland; six grandchildren, Jody Bridges (Scott) of Morgantown, Joseph “Randy” Stout (Linda) of Branch, Michigan, Sybil Bell (Bryan) of Sneedville, Tennessee, Sadie Arney (Mike) of Morgantown, Kirk Bolen (Amanda) of Bell Air, Maryland, and Suzanne Buschjost (Matthew) of St. Charles, Missouri; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim Reynolds (Claudia) of Greenwood and Forrest Reynolds, and sister, Marcella Dickinson (Jim) of Greenwood.

The Revs. Stan Icenolge and Eric Allen will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Monday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Bluff Creek Cemetery in Greenwood.
