Police seeking man in bank fraud

Police are looking for a man who is believed to have cashed three counterfeit checks at banks in Greenwood and on the southside.

Crime Stoppers and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department want the public’s help in identifying the bank fraud suspect.

On Oct. 15, a man cashed checks at three southside Fifth Third Bank branches using a different name and identification card at each branch, according to a news release.

Each check was counterfeit and listed as being from a Florida construction company. The suspect cashed the checks at the Fifth Third Banks located along Smith Valley Road in Greenwood, at 2020 E. County Line Road and at 7921 S U.S. 31 near Stop 11 Road, according to the news release.
