Fena J. Thompson

EDINBURGH

Fena J. Thompson, 79, of Edinburgh, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016.

She was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Shelby County, to Harry Duckworth and Vinnie (Snyder) Duckworth.

She married Lowell R. Thompson, and he survives.

She is also survived by her sons, John M. (Dana) Hodson of Columbus and Scott E. Crabtree of Indianapolis; daughters, Pamela (Jeff) Fodge of Martinsville, Susan (Ron) McClain of Indianapolis, Diane (Bob) Gard of Demotte and Kelli (Steve) Zeilinga of Knightsown; sisters, Judith Bardy of Indianapolis and Donna (Howard) Young of Needham; stepmother, Myrna Duckworth of Florida; half brother, Bob Duckworth, and half sister, Susan Gutierrez, both of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents and sister, Roberta Tearman.

She was a 1954 graduate of Mount Auburn High School and a member of Jollity United Methodist Church, Red Hat Society and the Home Ec Club, Franklin.

She retired in 1997 after many years working for Kroger in Franklin.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and spending winters in Florida.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh, with Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
