Johnson County Park fire tales and chroma riot

Johnson County Park is planning an event to put some warmth and fellowship into the frigid winter night air next month.

The Fire Tales program Feb. 5 will include opportunities to tell some stories around a camp fire, toast some s’mores and stargaze. The event will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Dress for the weather and bring chairs and blankets for the fireside. If it’s snowing or raining, the program reschedule to Feb. 12. The program will meet in the front room, adjacent to the park office, and then move outdoors.

The weekend before the fireside chat, the park will host a painting party Jan. 29.

Chroma Riot also will start at 6:30 p.m.

Canvases and supplies will be provided. Bring your own ideas or use the organizers’.

RSVP for one or both events to [email protected] or 812-526-6809. The park is located at 2949 E. North St., Nineveh.
