SWANSBORO, N.C.
Vada M. Berting, 106, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at her home in Swansboro, North Carolina. She was a former resident of Indianapolis.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert (Barbara) Berting and Tom (Evon) Berting; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Berting; and daughters, Joann Cress and Barbara Sandall.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at University Heights United Methodist Church, 4002 Otterbein Ave., Indianapolis, with calling from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. The Revs. Ted Lee and C. Archibald Hawkins will be officiating. A committal service will follow at Washington Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to University Heights United Methodist Church Trustee Fund, 4002 Otterbein Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46227-3698.
