Margaret L. Doub, 91, of Whiteland, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, in Whiteland.

Margaret was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Morgantown, to Ralph and Mildred Dine.

She married D. James Doub on Nov. 5, 1944, in Greenwood. They were married for 71 years.

Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed ceramics, flower arranging, cooking and decorating her home. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family.

She was a charter member of the Workbasket Homemakers Club of Johnson County for 60-plus years and a lifelong member of the Greenwood Christian Church.

Margaret loved grooming their horses with her daughters for horse show events in Indiana. She was their biggest cheerleader.

She is survived by her husband, D.James Doub of Whiteland; two daughters, June Anne (Marshall) Burns of Alabama and Deborah (Merrill) Kelsay of Whiteland; seven grandchildren, Kim (Bill) Cobb, Michelle (Mac) Tonsmeire, James (Alicia) Osborne, William (Victoria) Burns, Joseph (Amy) Kelsay, Russell (Liz) Kelsay and Brittany (Chris) Satkoski; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Marsha Burns Burney; brother, Robert Dine; and sister, June Blake.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. 31. A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s honor to St. Francis Hospice, 8414 Franciscan Lane, Indianapolis, IN 46237.
