GREENWOOD
Edward Devon Wetzel, 82, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016. He was a resident of Greenwood.
He was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Indianapolis to the late Charles and Mildred (Henry) Wetzel.
He is survived by his children, Edward M. (Jane) Wetzel, Cathy (Dave) Richardson, Julie (Carl) Freund and Cindy (Brian) Cooley; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charlie (Pat) Wetzel, Georgie (Diane) Wetzel and Russell Wetzel, and two sisters, Treva Wetzel and Joann (Odie) Isom.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Wetzel.
Edward was a graduate of Southport High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Edward was the owner of Southside Sand and Gravel for 40 years before retiring.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the service time Friday at the church.
