NEW WHITELAND

Elvis E. “Bud” Moore, 75, of New Whiteland, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

He was born March 25, 1940, in Athens, Alabama, to Abner and Oma (Hannah) Moore.

He married Linda C. (Fill) Moore on June 1, 1968, at Whiteland United Methodist Church, she survives.

He worked in insurance and real estate sales for many years. He had been the sport clock operator for Whiteland Community High School and Clark Pleasant Middle School for 18 years. He was a member of Community Congregation Church in Franklin. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, Alabama football, spending time visiting with children in their neighborhood and especially spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a 1959 graduate of Whiteland High School.

Survivors include his wife, Linda C. (Fill) Moore of New Whiteland; children, Shari Gray (Terry) of Fort Collins, Colorado, Jennifer Lee (Ron) of Indianapolis, Kenny A. Moore (Amy) of New Whiteland and Beth Wright (Jason) of Thorntown; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy Gray, Ariel Gray, Rebekah Ooms (Josh), Rachel Colo (Eliseo), Ana Yaw (Miles), Jonathan Lee, David Lee, Jackson Moore, Landon Moore, Emily Wright and Josh Wright; two great-grandchildren, Lucas Colo and Astrid Liliana Colo; a brother, James Moore (Lu) of Auburn, Kentucky; and a sister, Nancy Hunt (David) of Rock Hill, South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Allen Moore. (Ann, deceased).

The Rev. Dan McLaughlin will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
