Band seeking percussionists for performances

The Crossroads Brass Band, Johnson County’s only British-style all-brass band, is in need of percussionists for upcoming concerts and competitions.

The most pressing needs are a percussionist or drummer who can handle a snare drum, said Donald Bookout, managing director. The band also needs a mallet player who reads music well and someone who plays tympani.

Crossroads Brass Band formed in 2012 and features members from Indianapolis and surrounding communities as far away as Bloomington and Kokomo. It features people of varying musical experiences, from former and current band directors, retired military and amateurs looking for a place to dust off their instruments.

Membership is open to any brass and percussion player. Auditions are not required.

The band rehearses every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Franklin Community Middle School, 625 Grizzly Cub Drive.
