Teen struck by car, taken to hospital with arm pain

A Franklin teen was taken to the hospital with arm pain after she was hit by an SUV early Tuesday morning.

Just after midnight Tuesday, Isabel Portocarerro, 14, Franklin, was walking on King Street when she was hit by the side mirror of a passing SUV, according to the police report.

The accident occurred near the intersection of King Street and Middleton Road, according to the report.

Portocarerro had been in an argument with a friend and was taking a walk to cool off when she was hit by the SUV, according to the report.

The driver of the SUV was Paul Wilson, 52, Martinsville. Wilson said he tried to swerve but couldn’t avoid Portocarerro due to the road conditions from the snow.

Portocarerro was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital and was treated and released, according to the report.
