Police investigating vehicle stolen from gas station

Police are looking for three people and a white box truck that were seen at a Center Grove area gas station when a vehicle was stolen during the weekend.

Just after 7 a.m. Saturday, a man reported his sport-utility vehicle was stolen when he went inside the gas station, located in the 6100 block of Smith Valley Road, and left his vehicle running.

Investigators are looking for a white box truck that was parked at the gas pump next to the vehicle that was stolen.

Three people were inside the truck. Two went inside the store, and investigators said one man got into the sport-utility vehicle and drove away, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Surveillance video shows the three people and the white box truck. Police want to talk to the man and woman who went into the store about the third person who was in the truck with them, Sheriff Doug Cox said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office tip line at 346-4654.
