Police: Edinburgh man took lumber from garage

An Edinburgh man was arrested after police found him in another resident’s garage just before 5 p.m. Monday.

Police arrested Dalton Allison, 22, 204 Hart St., on charges of criminal trespassing, residential entry and burglary, according to the police report.

Police were called to 409 S. Walnut St., where a witness saw Allison carrying lumber out of a resident’s garage, the report said.

Dalton told police he was looking for his bike in the garage and was moving the lumber in the process, according to the report.

The property where the garage was located had several no trespassing signs posted. When police called the property owner to the garage, he told officers he wanted Dalton arrested, according to the report.

Dalton was taken to the Johnson County jail and held on $11,000 bond.
