Elizabeth Anne Roe

Elizabeth Anne Roe, 94, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at the Franklin United Methodist Community.

The daughter of Edward and Estle Chloe Battin Speas, Anne was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Whiteland.

She was a graduate of Whiteland High School. After completing business school, she worked as a secretary for the former Merchants National Bank in Indianapolis and later at Greenwood Center (now Greenwood Park Mall). She retired as a bookkeeper from Wall Enterprises.

Anne was a member of Whiteland United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed bird watching, working in her yard, traveling and attending concerts and the opera.

Anne is survived by her son, Kyle (Kathy) Roe of Indianapolis; her daughter, Lisa (Greg) Wall of Nineveh; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice E. Roe; and a brother, James Speas.

The Rev. Cleon Wright will officiate services at 1 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 5635 W. 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
