Restaurant owner chooses Greenwood for second outlet

A new bar and eatery, Bar Louie, has opened at the Greenwood Park Mall.

The address is 1251 U.S. 31 North, R140, accessible from the outdoor shops and restaurants. It is the second location for owner Frank Sweeney. The other is in Mishawaka.

The Greenwood location features more than 8,000 square feet and a patio of 2,000-plus square feet, which will debut in the spring. Guests can enjoy family dinners, drinks with friends and watch sporting events. The restaurant has drink and food specials most days of the week, including a kids menu and brunch on Sundays.

The bar features its signature martinis and an extensive collection of imports, 20 wines by the glass and 30 beers on tap. Beers from local breweries including Flat12 Bierwerks, Fountain Square, Daredevil, Tow Yard, Black Acre and TAXMAN are available.

Health network receives heart care certification

Community Health Network has received Chest Pain Center with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care.

Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, Community Hospital East and Community Hospital South have been reaccredited for the distinction. 

The society is an international nonprofit organization that assists facilities streamline quality, cost and patient satisfaction for cardiovascular patients.

Hospitals that have received SCPC accreditation have achieved a higher level of expertise in dealing with patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack. They emphasize the importance of standardized diagnostic and treatment programs that provide more efficient and effective evaluation as well as more appropriate and rapid treatment of patients with chest pain and other heart attack symptoms.
