Vet burglarized for second time

For the second time in about a month, drugs were stolen from a veterinary office near Trafalgar.

The owner of Midwest Equine Veterinary Hospital, off County Road 150W, southeast of Trafalgar, reported at 10:30 a.m. Saturday that a window had been broken and the locked medicine cabinet was broken into, according to the police report.

The thief or thieves stole Ketamine, a drug used for anesthesia. The cash box and other electronics were not taken, the report said. In the burglary last month, Ketamine and Pentobarbital were taken.

The owner’s son had checked on the animals around 12:30 a.m., and had seen a vehicle in the driveway around 1 a.m., but the owner thought it was their business tractor, the report said.

Another vet clinic in Mooresville also recently had a burglary where Ketamine was stolen, the owner told police.

The sheriff’s office is investigating.
